As you all know, I'm doing that whole 50 books in a year. I'm updating my list which I left off at # 9. So here are the rest...
10. Manhunting. By Jennifer Cruise: Romance. 30ish woman works too much and is sent off on a retreat to find a man, but all the yuppies there can't compare to the one cowboy in town. Cute story, would read again if I owned the book.
11. The Subtle Knife. By Phillip Pullman: Sci-fi/fantasy. The second in his Dark Materials series. We follow Lyra and Will as they gain the knife that cuts anything as they head off to the war of the angels. Much better than the first and makes me excited for the final book.
12. Unexpected. By Lori Foster: Romance. Hired mercenary falls for her client as the head to South America to rescue the brother only to find out after their mission, they have a baby on the way. Great book for women empowerment, cause she kicks major ass.
13. North of Havana. By Randy Wayne White: Suspense. Doc Ford must return to Cuba to rescue a friend. Only problem, he's insulted Castro and no longer welcomed in normal society. Lots of twists and a good page turner.
14. The Secret Life of Bees. By Sue MonK Kidd: Fiction. Lily leaves home after breaking her black nanny out of jail only to flee to South Carolina in search of her mother's past, only to find a Black Madonna and a family of beekeepers. Surprisingly good book; prose was wonderful.
15. Beauty's Punishment. By Anne Rice: Erotic. The second book in the Sleeping Beauty series. Again lots of graphic sexual content with a strong emphasis on pleasure and pain; particularly pain. It is an interesting turn of events and will read the last book in series.
Well there you have it. Two months and 15 books. Average of 12 books a month, since it's only the 11th. At this rate, I'll have over 100 in the year. Cross your fingers.
Kisses
