So Life has been busy as hell lately, but i had yesterday off to catch up with my characters at [livejournal.com profile] oneav and [livejournal.com profile] post_bellum I'm having way too much fun with them.

Also I'm adding to the book list.

71. The Poisonwood Bible By Bararba Kingsolver, Fiction A story about a family that ends up in Africa on a mission trip and their struggle to make a change no only in the little African village as well as their struggle to make it back to the US. It took awhile to get into, but I liked it once I got into it.

72. Blood Price By Tanya Huff Fantasy. After witnessing an accident at a train station, Vicki Nelson, PI, takes an assignment to find the truth about a missing college boy, which in turn leads her straight to the front door of Henry Fitzroy, 450 year old vampire. Read it after being introduced to the character in one of my RPGs.

73. The Gift By Julie Garwood Romance. As child bride, Sara has spent her whole life believing that Nathan St. James was her night in shining armor, but Nathan was not what she expected, considering he's a pirate and all. Read before and liked it then and like it now.

74. Blood Trail By Tanya Huff Fantasy. Henry enlists the help of Vicki, when a close friend of a family of werewolves are starting to die. However, Vicki's ex-partner, Mike, shows up and things begin to go from bad to worst. Very good.

75. Shadow Dance By Julie Garwood Romance. Needing a change, Jordan decides to head off to Texas to learn more about the Buchanans of the past, only to be stuck there after a body shows up in the trunk of her rental car. I love this book...waiting for the next one.

76. Girl Sleuth: Nancy Drew and the Women who created her By Melanie Rehak Non-Fiction
The story behind how Nancy Drew is an American Icon for young girls. Not a big non fiction reader and I love this book.

77. A Dirty Job By Christopher Moore Fiction. After his wife dies, Pete discovers that he was death, well not really death but a Death Merchant. When his misses a few souls, things start to get ugly. Laugh out loud funny.

78. A Kingdom of Dreams By Judith McNaught Romance. A headstrong nun in training is kidnapped by her sworn enemy, only to have to marry him by order of the king. Will she find the happiness she always dreamed of or with her family get in the way?

79. Blood Lines By Tanya Huff Fantasy. When an ancient mummy breaks free from the magic that held him for centuries, Vicki and Henry must find him before he claims more lives and more followers.

80. Blood Pact By Tanya Huff Fantasy. When Vicki's mother passes, she discovers her body has been stolen. Not only has it been stolen, but it's up and walking around. With the help of Henry and Mike, Vicki is determined to find out who is behind it.

81. Bare Bones By Kathy Reichs Thriller. Trying to tie up loose ends for a vacation, Tempe's dog stumbles upon some bones that lead her into a twisted mystery of drugs, death and the black market. Good read.

82. Tithe By Holly Black Young Adult. Kaye has lived a life on the road with her rock star mother, but turn of events sends her back to Philly where she discovers the truth about her past and what she really is. Cute and a quick read.

So last week was our film festival and I have photos from the past weekend. Rider Strong was there so of course I have pictures of him and his brother as well as my family who was also there. Check them out if you want.

So stole this from [livejournal.com profile] cloverdew

Comment and I will give you 7 interests that you have to explain in your lj why they are of interest to you

[livejournal.com profile] cloverdew gave me:
bad spelling
hockey
irish music
nancy drew
cross stitching
dc shorts
tattoos

So here we go:

Bad spelling I'm a horrible speller. I mean, third graders spell better than me, which is why I spell check everything at least four times and even then I'll type "done" when I mean "down" which I suppose is more of a typing error, but I'll read it and think it looks right and I'll notice it's wrong three days later.

Hockey It's the one sport that I follow every season beginning to end. I heart the Red Wings, yes I know I suck. I was highly disappointed at the strike a few years ago and I have made my peace with the game changes. Like the clock stop for fights and automatic 5 minute penalty for fighting. Plus, I have a thing for Canadians.

Irish Music There is nothing better than a good drinking song or a lively jig. The harmonies and melodies that blend ans weave together. It's happy music. Even Danny Boy, probably the saddest Irish song on Earth, makes me happy. The music makes me want to stand up and dance, sing and have a good time.

Nancy Drew The original mystery girl. What can I say other than she is amazing and a true inspiration to young girls. She's head strong, smart and doesn't rely on a man to help her. Nancy, with her blue roadster, always gets her man and she never lets the underdog lose.

Cross Stitching I know it's a little domesticated but every female member of my grandmother's family, dating back to after Annie Oakley (Yes I'm related to her)has learned to cross stitch and we have at least five generations of cross stitching "Home sweet Home" pieces in our family. When I have a daughter I will teach her and she will make a "Home" cross stitch to add to the collection.

DC Shorts This is the film festival I work on as part of the job. (Check out schedule for the films we'll be screening this year) I love the festival, it just takes up a ton of time. This year we have some amazing films and I'm excited to see what people think. My fav...Shop and Save. I have 3 words. Jesus. Thrift Store. You can get the idea.

Tattoos I have six (a rose, a Claddagh, a quill, a sun and moon, Ariel and the fairy that is my icon) and will probably have a seventh within the next few months. As the resident expert among my friends, I help find places, answer questions about basic care and general advise. Now anyone looking to get one, I suggest, knowing exactly what you want and then wait 6 months. If you still want it, then go for it. I'm available for questions if you all have any.
