Holy mother of God! Where did summer go? I swear it was June last week. Oh well. It has been a really long time since I updated last, so here's a real quick overview.

Job: Like it, settling in nicely and my boss just loves me. Yay! I've been given three big projects, one is completely finished, one is at a standstill until my boss finishes her part of the new software and the other is about halfway done.

Home: New place is great, although I lost power this morning and couldn't open the fuse box. Good news though, the whole building went out, so it didn't matter that I couldn't open the fuse box. Had to shower in the dark, but I had hot water.

KP: He's going great and now has THREE days off vs. only one like last year, so woot! However, I think he's bored, so I'm trying to think of a hobby he can do at night. Apparently, brewing beer isn't enough. (I bought him a home brewing kit for Christmas, which he still hasn't used...grrr).

RPG: All games are doing great and I'll do some pimping soon. We've had some big threads in [profile] post_bellum which have been sweet. I have all 14 of my characters active 3 to 4 threads a month, plus [profile] do_bad_things should be starting soon, I'm playing Sookie. Fun fun

NaNo: Did some plotting for NaNo this year. I'm writing the sequel to my 2007 NaNo entitled Buts Words can Never Die, which is a young adult Nancy Drew Style mystery. I'm hoping to publish it someday and have a few friends reading the 3rd draft of it as we speak. The new NaNo takes place over the summer and will be call Camp Dead End and will involve smuggling...I'm thinking drugs, but I'm not sure. I do know there will be camp rivalry, kidnapping and good looking lifeguards. The main character is only 15.

Weight: Down 13...want to drop 7 more before end of year which is part of my 101

Rhodora We are producing Agnes of God in the fall. Auditions soon...need to find space and confirm with director his schedule. I may just pick dates without him just to get things moving. I'm working on this over the weekend.

Future: I've talked with a few friends and done basic (I mean, I've look online at two schools) about grad school for creative writing. My facebook wife, Connie, is in a graduate program at John Hopkins and it's only 9 course, including thesis and she should have it complete next summer. So, I've been saving and thinking about applying or looking into the GREs. This morning I came across an article from The Chronicle of Higher Education which is a university industry paper that my company subscribes to. I thought it was really interesting and I've decided to share it. It's under the cut bc it's long and I blatantly stole it bc I'm not sure how to share it without making anyone interested in reading, sign up for a subscription. It's good and I suggest you read it.

Anyways, that's my life up until now. I'll try to update more often.

Kisses!

Ok, I've been like CRAZY busy the passed week. First, I cleaned some, but mostly spent every night after work moving a car load over to my new apartment/flat/whatever you want to call it. KP and I planned on moving everything but the big stuff on Sunday, which we did.

However...

KP woke up an hour before he had to leave for work in incredible amounts of pain because he was beginning to pass a kidney stone (Really it is the closest male equivalent to giving birth). So, we went to the hospital. We spent 4 hours there then drove to an all night pharmacy got pills and crashed.

We then picked up the truck at 10 AM, took two loads of furniture (Bed, four bookcases, TVs, tv stand, mini fridge, desk, couch) and another car load. We stopped for food and then KP went back to bed.

I:
*Did 3 loads of laundry
*Set up the bathroom, shower curtain, towels, TP, filled medicine cabinet
*Set up TV, DVD and Wii (ALl by myself..I'm so proud)
*Unpacked dishes and food
*Unpacked most of my books and all my DVDs

Still a lot to do, but I feel mostly moved in which is nice

I saw Harry Potter and the Half blood Prince last night and yes,it was fucking amazing and NO I'M NOT TELLING YOU ANYTHING! Sorry, I don't want to give anything away, other than 5 words...

Ron Weasley on love potion.

Ok that's all for now. My internet and cable should be up and running on Weds, so cross you fingers.

So there was a Metro Train accident yesterday, most of you knew that all ready bc my roomie was flooded with calls asking if she and I were all right. We were, but it was still a little scary when friends from across the country were asking about us. I then called my mom, who was happy that I called. I also ended up calling my grandparents and emailing my dad.

Besides, deadly train crashes, life has been fairly good lately. Looked a new apartment over the weekend and I'm thinking the owner really likes me and KP so we'll probably sign a lease sometime this week. Woot!

I'm officially off temp status at my job on July 1, so I'm going out to celebrate. If you want to come we're meeting around Metro Center, i'm thinking Matchbox.

Still writing and RPing a ton; I have some free time at work that I do it, but there are some days that I think I RP more than I work...shhh! Don't tell anyone. Also, I'm writing this in Dreamwidth and got to say I hate the font. HTML-ers, how do I fix that? Thanks!

That's it for now, but if I think of something I'll post again soon.

So as part of my 101 I promised to update my personal LJ once a week, but I missed last week because I was away in Ohio...taking KP to meet my grandparents. So I'm back now and happy that it is in the 20s here. Why the 20s? Well, the high the entire week we were there was 17 and that was the first day we were there. It snowed the next few days straight...about 6 to 9 inches and the windchill kicked up making it feel like negative numbers. Except on Friday when it actually was negative 8. That's right 8 below zero with a windchill making it feel like negative 30.

I've never been in such cold weather. Sure, I've seen 0, but negative? No way. So that's why I'm happy with low 20s.

Anywho, I'm back and catching up on [livejournal.com profile] post_bellum and [livejournal.com profile] oneav as well as some extra work...it's taking me a long time because I don't feel like working on it...bad me.

So KP bought me a foot massager for my bday. Right now i'm soaking my feet, having a rum and coke and relaxing after a god awful night at work...yes night I work 11 pm to 7 am on weekends...evil.

But right now, I feel amazing. A foot massage and a drink...all i need is some good loving and this is the perfect day.

So, I'm not a big collector of anything...except maybe books, I have a ton of books. Anyways, so KP told his mom that I like the Wizard of Oz which is true. One of my all-time favorite movies/book. Since she now knows this for Christmas last year she and KP's dad bought me a beautiful hard-cover edition of the book. Love it and again, it is beautiful. For my birthday she sent...a 6 piece set of Madam Alexander miniature dolls of Dorothy, The Cowardly Lion, Tin Man, Scarewcrow, Glinda and the WW of the West, plus an Effanbee's 1984 limit doll of Judy Garland as Dorothy.

I'm 24 and I still think it's cute that I'm getting dolls for my b-day. I'll take some photos and Post them here )

Work: Stressful and needs to be full time...plan...get though festival before actively looking for a permanent position somewhere

I'm the shit. Truly and utterly amazing, if I do say so myself.

First off, made over 150 last night in tips...go me and kp!

Secondly, not only do I have the best mother's day gifts for both my mom and kp's mom, I also made...that's right made, personal mother's day cards for them, which in turn led me to make ones for both my grandmothers.

Thirdly, i just made wonderfully delicious nachos...cheese, salsa, fake meat and seasoning...all melty and good. God, I love nachos, but finding places that do vegetarian ones cane be difficult at times, but not always.

Finally, since it's been a few days, I'm updating the book list...I'm almost to 50 and it's only May.

36. Sex and the Single Vampire By Katie MacAlister Paranormal Romance. Allegra Telfird, a Summoner, is at risk of losing her job unless she can prove that she came summon and release spirits before week's end. Only problem, a Dark One vampire, asks for her help in resucing his friend for a Trio of physics, who are out to study and abuse any paranormal phenom. Quick, but fun.

37. Delta of Venus By Anais Nin Erotica. Collection of short erotic tales, Anais wrote in order to make a few extra bucks. A dollar a page. Some stories were good, while one or two were too long without any break points.

38. Blow me Down By Katie MacAlister Romance. After promising to give a virtual reality game a try, Amy finds herself trapped inside the pirating world of the Caribbean, where she finds the pirate of her dreams, kicks his butt in a sword fight, sinks his ship and saves his life...all under three hours. Read before, but needed a break from the next book I finished.

39. Inkspell By Cornelia Funke Young Adult. The second story of Mo and Meggie, leads us to Inkworld when Meggie reads herself and Farid into the story trying to warn Dustfinger of Basta's return. Follow Meggie try to help fix the story only to discover that her father is near death, the Laughing Prince is no longer laughing and the world she was so obbessed with wasn't the world they foudn themselves in. Great story can't wait for the next one, but a tad long.

40. Ghost of a Chance By Kate Marsh Paranormal Mystery. Karma Marx is hired by her soon-to-be-ex husband to clear a house of any unnatural visitors, when she finds herself smack dab in a true Agatha Christie Who-Done-it? Karma's ex is found dead and a house full of ghosts, polters, unicorns and humans are all subject for suspicion. Good idea, but I figured it out too early, so not very exciting.

41. A Hard day's Knight By Katie MacAlister Romance. Pepper Marsh is attending the Ren Faire with her cousin in the hopes of finding a man, only she finds herself challenging that women can joust just as well as men. So instead of wenching her way through the faire, she finds herself in the saddle with a lance strapped to her arm. Funny and makes me want to join the International Wenches Association...yes it actually exists.

42. Deja Death By Kathy Reichs Thriller/Mystery. The first Tempe book and a good read. Nothing like finding a garbage bag full of dismembers body parts to start a series off right. While very technical, the jargon never over powered the story being told. Loved it and will be reading more.

43. A Girl's Guide to Vampires By Katie MacAlister Paranormal Romance. Joy and Roxy head to the Czech Republic for vacation, only to join a Goth Fair and meet the reclusive author, CJ Dante, who writes romances about vampires. While Dante thinks Joy is the woman to save his soul, JOy knows the only man for her is Raphael, a security guard who isn't all that he seems. Fun read, good for some mindless time.

Check it out...7 more to go!

Things have been pretty good lately. I've got a new routine down that includes work Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Free time with KP Monday, Wednesday and Thursday morning and sometimes Tuesday night since that his is day off.

I spend my afternoons...at least the last week... RPing, watching the first season of Gilmore Girls (I'm watching from the beginning so I'm caught up when i watch the final season on DVD), laundry and taking some nice walks to the bookstore where envy all the wonderful worlds I have yet to enter. I occasionally walk to the post office when I need to...been selling my old books on half.com like a fiend. I had THREE huge boxes full of paperbacks and school books that now has been reduced to two huge boxes. I made about $100 last month.

While my routine has been normal for awhile my roomie, CD, keeps reminding me that I'm better than where I'm currently working and deserve a better job. I know she is right, but my lack of motivation to actually find it, is frightening. I should have a job where i can move up in the company or grow and I should actively find it, but I don't want a job like that. I want to spend my days at home writing. It sounds like a big fat dream that is so impossible, but it's what I want and I've been writing everyday. A few hundred words at least and I plan to continue to do so until the miracle happens and I'm published.

Moving on...

Got more books to update so here they are

29. Beauty's Release By Anne Rice, Erotic. The final book in the Sleeping Beauty trilogy. Beauty is captured by the Sultan and taught new ways to love only to be kidnapped back to her own kingdom where she is released from service. She discovers what she enjoys most in her sexual life, but must wait to have it. This was my favorite of all three probably because it ends on a happy note.

30. Killjoy By Julie Garwood, Thriller. John Paul Renard hunts down the hit man hired to kill his sister, but ends up in a tangled web of deceit and revenge. Joining forces with FBI agent Avery Delaney, they must hunt down a killer, save Avery's aunt and stop psychotic dead woman from winning her game of cat and mouse. Loved how much John Paul is a total jerk and a nice guy all at the same time.

31. The Heartbreaker By Carly Phillips, Romance. Journalist Chase Chandler is the last of the Chandler boys to find love and marriage, but he get hit hard after an one night stand with the Vice President hopeful's daughter Sloan. The past Sloan is digging up will force him to decide between the story of a lifetime and the woman he's meant to be with. Cute book.

32. Twilight By Stephanie Meyer, Young Adult. Bella moves from sunny Phoenix to the chilly Northwest to live with her father only to fall head over heels in love with Edward, a vampire, who while returns Bella's affection also finds himself desperate for her blood. It's a great love story and gets me all excited for the next one to come out in paperback in May.

33. Murder List By Julie Garwood, Thriller. Hotel Heiress Regan Hamilton Madison, is asked to make a list of people she would like to "never see again". As she writes down the names of a few rude and criminal people it isn't until she runs into Alec Buchanan does she realize the names on her list are turning up dead. Will the killer be caught or will Regan take the fall? The two best friends in this book are such a nice balance to Regan and my favorites.

34. You Slay Me By Katie MacAlister, Paranormal Thriller (According to the author's website) This is the first book in a series about Aisling Grey,a Guardian (aka gatekeepers of Hell) and the hilarious situations she finds herself in. Too much happens to write one sentence, but all I have to say is Jim is wonderful and I love him.

35. Fire Me Up By Katie MacAlister, Paranormal Thriller. Aisling has decide to give the whole Guardian thing a chance and goes to Budapest in search of a mentor to teach her. As before, she finds herself in the middle of a several hilarious situations that even Jim's dry humor can't even help her out of. Tiffany, the professional virgin, is one interesting character...do you think being a professional virgin pays well?

So life is interesting to say the least. Attempted to text my boss and walk at the same time and ended up tripping over a curb, scabbing my knees and hands as well as ribbing a hole in my nice jeans. Go Blond moment.

Been Rping and getting way excite for [livejournal.com profile] post_bellum which is a game I'm moding with CD. We have some great characters and I'm looking forward to see who else applies.

Will be celebrating 2 years with Kp next Friday...YAY!! A major milestone in the relationship department for me, since I've never been with someone that long and hopefully i never will have to worry about again.

Work...well, the diner is find and I will be going back on payroll next pay period, so i can at least have some money taken out for taxes and then I'll just use tips for rent. The other one...well, we didn't get this big grant that we were hoping for, which means that while they thought my position would become full time is barely holding on as a part-time job.

So I need a new job and a gift for the bf as well as some envelopes...so i can mail more books i've sold on half.com

Well until later

My boy has the short end of the stick at work.  First off, he's a manager, which means when the boss is on vacation, like he is at the moment for the next month, he's in charge of pretty much everything.  Which ends up meaning that if some on is sick he has to cover that shift or work by himself.  Currently, he has worked every day for a week straight and will continue to work every day until Feb. 18.  That's another week and a half.

In addition to the working every day he has to work two 12 hour days instead 8 hour days.  So in total, kp will work 160 hours and only be paid for 112 hours bc he's on salary.   Thats 38 extra hours without pay.  How much does that blow?

A whole lot.

I'm going to go visit him for dinner today, so he's not too lonely.

Kisses

My boss is a complete control freak.  Last week, I couldn't do anything right and my work sucks.  And today, I spent 6 hours reorganizing his old files in to the brand new filing cabinet.

I then had to work for another two hours on a website for our web guy, so he can have time to work on our website.  I then went home to cook dinner for Kp and me, but he's still asleep and his food is in the microwave waiting for him.

Another two and a half hours on the web work and now I'm free.

So back to my boss, so today he was in a great mood and is making me come in tomorrow as well as Friday, which blows cause I'm at the diner on Friday night.  God, I hope I can leave early on Friday...if not I'm going to me a total bitch and a half.

Oh well, going to bed before another long day of work where I may or may not be fired...I'm not quite sure what is going to happen.

Kisses...

I need a to do list for life.  I mean, right now I'm not sure where I am or where I'm going, so I need a list.

1. Find better paying and full time job
2. Put more savings
3. Edit NaNo07
4. Finish another novel
5. Pay rent
6. Get Kp something for V-Day

Seems like a good start, but these are just short term goals.  For the long term I really would like to start some kind of career or something.  Job security and insurance sure would be nice.

Oh well, doing a million things today, so i should get on to it...

Kisses

Snow is pretty, but after spending the week in 75-80 degree sunny...not a drop of rain the entire time...in Florida...snow just feels extremely cold and makes me want to crawl into bed and never get out.  Not like that's too bad especially if KP's in there with me...hehe.

So got back about 24 hours ago and had a great time, expect for the driving...i don't drive and have very little confidence about doing so, which is why KP drove most of the way.

Finished a few more books while I was gone and one since I've gotten back, so I'll go ahead and add those to my list...I'm well on the way to 50.

6. Death De Jour. By Kathy Reich Suspense.  Author the show Bones is based on.  Investigating a fire leads Tempe on some strange and deadly turns..plus she almost gets with sexy Canadian investigator...who is an American. Very good...will get more

7. Come as you Are. By Amy J. Fetzer Romance/Suspense.  National Geographic Society location Scout Tessa is lured back to the life of espionage and the man of her dreams after faking her own death 11 years ago...plus US cover up with the VP of Venezuela. Good story...a bit long at points.

8. Annie Freeman's Fabulous Traveling Funeral. By Kris Radish Chick Lit.  Annie died of cancer and sends her five closets friends on five specific locations to spread her ashes...which are kept in a pair of Red Converse tennis shoes.  Cute book, a little campy.

9. Crazy for You. By Jennifer Cruise Romance.  A simple change and her whole world goes upside down.  Quinn gets a dog, dumps the most important man in town and bought a house...now all she needs is a good mechanic for her.  Good book to read while soaking in the tub.

Back home...seen  kp for all of 30 minutes, which sucks, but we're going to be spending the all of next week together driving for his week off.  It's the only time he gets off a year...yet the boss takes the entire month of February off to go to Hawaii.  I agree, it blows and he needs a new job.

On another note, my roomie cd is in this lj group called 50 books, which asks for the members to read 50 books in a year.  In the past eight days, I've finished five books. Thinking of joining the group, I've decided just to keep a list of all the books I've read this year...updating as I finish more collections of the written word.

So here we go.

1. Swapping Lives By Jane Green.  Chic lit, while a interesting writing style, the story began on page 250 of a 314 page book.  Too much exposition.

2. Lost By Gregory Maguire. Horror? Fiction, love Maguire and this book was a little on the creepy side, but it was defiantly intersting.  Wicked was better.

3. The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty By Anne Rice.  Erotica, never read it before and found it not distrubing, but defiantly not the kind of sexual activity I want to partake in.

4. Seduce Me By Carly Phillips.  Romance.  After reading about dominance and submission, I needed the happily ever after moment...plus a couple good sex scenes never hurt.

5. Ain't Myth-Behaving By Katie MacAlister.  Fiction.  Two short stories about a new twists on Celtic gods and the Vikings.  Both very funny and quick reads.

Been trying to sleep on and off for the past four hours since i'm working tonight, but for some reason it has eluded me.  After a wonderful light sleeping pill, i'm watching Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban for the third time today. (Kp put the DVD on repeat)

Been RPGing up a storm lately and feeling inspired to write other things...note previous entry. Not quite sure where it's headed but we will see.

Perhaps a bath will help in the restlessness.

Have a Happy New Year

Since it's been a while I thought I would just talk about life so far.

Job is good...possibly going to be a full time after the first of the year which is awesome.

However, I'm back to working at the diner a few days a week, only the weekends, but still I thought I was rid of it.

My novel was great and I'm going to start editing in another week or so, which would be good for me.

I started a RPG, but I'm new to the whole thing, so I'm not posting things the right way, but still i'm trying.

The holiday is just around the corner and I think I got the best gift for KP ever, so I totally can't wait for him to open.

Doing laundry, so I better be on the way
